Rising from the depths of Miyajima, Mount Misen is a sacred mountain at 535 meters above sea level, a mystical mountain that has long been a place of worship. The view from the summit is truly spectacular, with a breathtaking panoramic view of the islands of the Seto Inland Sea. 🌄✨
When I actually visited, I took the ropeway to the middle of the mountain, then hiked about 30 minutes to the summit. Along the way, I saw the Reikado, where Kobo Daishi is said to have practiced, and a mysterious landscape of giant rocks. The space where nature and history blend was almost spiritually cleansing.
The pleasant breeze at the summit, combined with the quiet time, offered a soothing moment that helped to blow away all the fatigue of travel. I recommend both a couple's hike and a solo nature stroll. 🍃
Access is via a 20-minute walk from Miyajima Pier to the ropeway station. The ropeway ride takes about 15 minutes, and then it's about a 30-minute walk from the middle of the mountain to the summit. It's best to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Why not take a trip to Mt. Misen, where nature and power spots blend together, to refresh your mind and body?
