National Day holiday calls for a trip to Mount Hengshan!

Hengshan Check-in|Rainy days in Changsha turned into sunshine and sea of clouds! May all your wishes come true 🌌
Who can relate! After two consecutive rainy days in Changsha, I set out with the mindset of "climbing Hengshan in the rain." But just as I left the temple and started heading up the mountain—boom! The sky suddenly cleared up! 🌞
Blue skies with white clouds floating overhead, and just a few steps later, I stumbled upon a sea of clouds rolling over the mountain peaks. The weather was perfectly cool for short sleeves, and the knitted cardigan I bought on a whim ended up as a souvenir in my bag. This kind of luck is worth bragging about for half a year! 🙏
My "no detour" check-in route:
11:20 Depart from Changsha by car → 13:20 Arrive at Hengshan Temple parking lot (just across the street, a 2-minute walk)
13:30 Worship at the temple (40 minutes, sincerity brings blessings~)
14:10 Take the eco-friendly shuttle up the mountain (40 minutes, stunning mountain views)
14:50 Start hiking from Nantianmen to Zhuru Peak (1 hour for photos + hiking, the view at the summit is divine!)
17:20 Take the eco-friendly shuttle back down
The timing was perfect—not rushed, not slow, with plenty of time for photos!
Beginner-friendly guide (must-read for first-timers!)
💰Tickets & Expenses
• Hengshan Temple: 58 RMB/person
• Mountain climbing + eco-friendly shuttle (round trip): 188 RMB/person (a must for lazy travelers! Even if you drive, you’ll need this as private cars aren’t allowed in the core scenic area)
• Incense: Available on the street after exiting the highway; I recommend buying it at the temple entrance! You can bargain—I got a set plus a large wish incense stick for a good deal.
• Local guide: Inside the temple, there are guides for 20 RMB who will teach you the worship process. Whether to get a wish stick or blessing depends on personal preference—I’m saving my luck for when my wishes come true!
⏰Time Management
• Driving from Changsha to the temple: 2 hours (avoid meal times for better traffic conditions)
• Hiking warning: From Nantianmen to Zhuru Peak takes 40 minutes; if you plan to hike, start earlier! I left Changsha at 11 AM and returned by 5 PM, just in time to catch the last shuttle.
Hidden gem accommodation!
Stayed at "Hengshan Caiyuntong Inn," where the hostess was super friendly, helped with luggage, and even recommended routes.
Highlight: It has an elevator! No need to carry suitcases upstairs. The toiletries are familiar brands, and the room was so clean you could walk barefoot. After a day of hiking, it was incredibly comfortable to stay here! 😌
May all our heartfelt wishes come true.
I’ll definitely come back next time!
