If you don’t want to be out in the sun or rain during the Dragon Boat Festival, the best choice is to visit a museum!
Coincidentally, my old home, the Hong Kong Palace Museum, has rotated new exhibits, including the special exhibition in Gallery 4 and the Qing Dynasty military exhibition, featuring new items never seen before!
The new exquisite exhibits this time include:
✴️ Armor of the Plain White and Bordered White Banners (previously Plain Yellow and Bordered Yellow Banners)
✴️ Metal waist plaques of the Yuanmingyuan Musketeer Corps
✴️ Three Autumn Training Paintings of the Jianrui Battalion (hard to photograph through glass)
✴️ Wang Dachen’s Naval Inspection Painting (replaced with three other paintings)
✴️ Three separate maps of the Guangdong Humen Fort Western Batteries (replacing the Steamship Formation and Beiyang Navy Regulations)
Although the Qianlong Emperor’s gold-thread helmet has been sent back to Beijing for restoration and maintenance, other items, including 20 military swords and three huge battle scrolls, are still on display and can still be seen!
Honestly: The exhibits rotate every three months, and the exhibition will run for a year, meaning there are still two more chances to see new related exhibits 😌👀🙌🏻 Take advantage of the Dragon Boat Festival weekend to be the first to see them!
Great place to visit
