🏝️Ma Wan 1868: Hong Kong's hidden cultural and artistic island

#SeptemberDestinations2025

Ma Wan 1868 is a new cultural and arts landmark in Hong Kong. Inspired by the history of the Qing Dynasty Customs in 1868, the old village houses have been revitalized into colorful "Rainbow Cottages," reminiscent of Hong Kong's Cinque Terre. Combining historical preservation with cultural and creative experiences, visitors can explore mural art, craft workshops (pottery, dyeing, etc.), and visit historical sites such as the Tin Hau Temple and the "Nine Dragon Gate" stone monument.

Located on the seafront, it offers magnificent views of Kap Shui Mun Bridge and Tsing Ma Bridge. It's home to numerous seaview restaurants and cafes, such as the Turkish-inspired "I Love Paris" and the Mediterranean-inspired "The Shack," perfect for enjoying the scenery while dining. It's only a 12-15 minute bus ride from Tsuen Wan West or Tsing Yi, making it the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle!
