Tai Lam Country Park is a dream for hikers and nature lovers on a budget. The highlight is the “Thousand Island Lake” view from the Tai Lam Chung Reservoir. From above, the water is dotted with dozens of small green islets, creating a breathtaking scene you wouldn’t expect in Hong Kong. The hiking trails are well marked, ranging from easy to challenging, so there’s something for everyone. I took the trail up to the reservoir viewpoint, and it was absolutely worth the effort.
