Mid-Autumn Festival will be held in 2 days! Taking advantage of the strong atmosphere, I followed this route to roam Wanchai yesterday:
Leighton Street (Wedding Invitation Street) → Blue House
As a result, the lights were so beautiful that I couldn't wait to leave🌕!
📍Stop 1: Leighton Street "Wedding Street"
The whole street is hung with more than 800 traditional Chinese lanterns and goldfish lanterns. Once the lights are lit, the whole place instantly becomes a flowing river of light and shadow! Golden ginkgo leaves with red sea of lanterns, looking up at the warm light in the sky, old Cantonese songs playing in my ears, like walking into the retro Mid-Autumn Festival in Wong Kar-wai's movies
📸Must-see spot:
· The group of goldfish lanterns under the arcade (dynamic fish shadows are fantastic!)
· Central giant lunar installation (great moonlight silhouette)
· Overhead lantern street view from the second owner's perspective
📍Stop 2: Blue House, Wanchai
It takes about 10 minutes to walk from Wedding Street and turn into Stone Water Canal Street - your eyes are instantly attracted by more than 700 hand-painted lanterns at Blue House! Traditional lanterns hang all over the exterior of the building, Tiffany blue walls collide with warm yellow lights, the warmth of the old era immediately returns
🌙 Hidden Easter Eggs:
· After lighting at 5:30 pm, the lanterns will turn gently in the wind
· The old shop in the corner will tell you the story of the Blue House with a smile
· In the moonlight, the blue walls and lanterns form a contrast between warm and cold colors, and there is a sense of story in every shadow
✨Tips:
1. It is recommended to arrive at Wedding Street at 5pm to see everything from sunset to night view at once;
2. Blue house less crowded at night, after 6 o'clock shadow lighting effect more pure;
3. The two points are very close. You can go to "Royal Yue Bakery" to buy a pastry mooncake to treat your stomach!
This trip to Wanchai on the eve of Mid-Autumn Festival really discovered:
Wedding Invitation Street is a romantic poem in the city.
The blue house is a gentle painting in time.
And Hong Kong's Mid-Autumn Festival, there are always details that make your heart 💙
