Diaoyuan Ancient Village in Ji'an, Jiangxi is very classical, exquisite, and fun to visit



Diaoyuan Ancient Village is located in Xingqiao Town, Jizhou District, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, consisting of two natural villages, Weixi and Zhuangshan.
The village is the ancestral home and gathering place of descendants of Ouyang Xiu, a famous politician and writer of the Northern Song Dynasty.

Architectural Features:

· A typical Jiangyou ancient village, the village buildings face east, west, south, and north, arranged in a Bagua (Eight Trigrams) pattern, resembling a maze.
· Main attractions include: Ouyang Clan Ancestral Hall, Mingshan Ancestral Hall, Ancient Archway of the Literary Family, Villa of the Eight Elders, Wenzhonggong Ancestral Hall, and Lipei Clan Ancestral Hall.

Cultural Heritage:

· Historically, five people from the village passed the imperial examination as Jinshi degree holders. During the Ming Dynasty, one family produced four Jinshi brothers who consecutively held official positions such as provincial governor and administrative commissioner.

Protection and Honors:

· The village preserves over 100 ancient buildings including ancestral halls, academies, and residences, representing typical Gan-style architecture.
· It has been listed in the first batch of China's Traditional Villages, designated as a National 4A-level Tourist Attraction, and recognized as a Chinese Historical and Cultural Village.
