[Chiba] A quiet shrine nestled among the rice fields in Katsuura City

Katsuura City in Chiba Prefecture is a famous tourist destination near the Pacific Ocean. Many tourists flock to the beach, especially in the summer.

But the ocean isn't the only attraction. There are also beautiful views in the mountains.

This time, I visited Yamajinja Shrine, located uphill from the coast. The shrine, nestled quietly among the rice paddies, had a completely different atmosphere, as if I were in a different country. Famous tourist spots are great, but I think it's also fun to visit these hidden shrines and temples!
