✍️ Ho Kow Hainam Kopitiam Review
I visited Ho Kow Hainam Kopitiam in Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown. Popular with both locals and tourists, there was a line from morning. The restaurant, with its modern design, evokes the atmosphere of a traditional Hainanese kapitiam, creating a clean yet retro feel.
I ordered the Kaya Toast Set. The crispy toast was generously spread with kaya jam and butter, creating a sweet yet savory flavor. Paired with the soft-boiled egg and soy sauce, I truly experienced the authentic Hainanese cuisine. For coffee, I chose the Hainanese Hot Kopi, a rich, sweet blend of condensed milk and a touch of local flavor.
The lunch menu offers a variety of local dishes, including nasi lemak, karee laksa, and hor d'oeuvres, making it a great choice for breakfast or a full meal. While the prices are a bit higher than typical local cafes, the quality of the food and the atmosphere made it worth it.
Overall, this is a great place to experience a traditional Hainanese breakfast in Kuala Lumpur. To avoid waiting, we recommend arriving right when they open.
