✍️ Ho Kow Hainam Kopitiam Review
I visited Ho Kow Hainam Kopitiam in Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown. It's so popular that lines form even in the morning, so be prepared to wait. The restaurant has been renovated to reflect the traditional kapitiam atmosphere, giving it a modern twist, and the retro feel is perfectly preserved.
I ordered the Kaya Butter Toast Set. The crispy bread was generously spread with kaya and butter, creating a perfect sweet and salty combination. The soft-boiled egg, mixed with soy sauce and dipped into the toast, felt like a true local breakfast experience. The coffee was Hainanese Hot Kopi, rich, full-bodied, and sweet, a classic local flavor.
The prices are a bit higher than typical local cafes, but the food and atmosphere make it well worth it.
In summary, this is a "must-visit place if you want to experience an authentic Hainanese breakfast in Kuala Lumpur." However, it's often crowded, so it's best to get there early.
