Daigo-ji Temple is famously associated with Toyotomi Hideyoshi's renowned cherry blossom viewing event, Daigo no Hanami. Its beauty truly lives up to its legendary reputation!
The weeping cherry blossoms here cascade down like a shower of petals, creating a magical and dreamlike atmosphere as they sway gently in the breeze.
Daigo-ji Temple is just a 10-minute walk from Daigo Station. I traveled there using public transportation. Compared to buses, trains are more reliable and avoid traffic jams, making them highly recommended.
Additionally, Daigo-ji Temple is located slightly away from central Kyoto and boasts a vast area. While it does get crowded during the cherry blossom season, it wasn’t overly packed. I visited on a weekday at 9 AM, and there was a short line at the ticket counter.
This is a must-visit spot during the cherry blossom season!
