With a 13-hectare site that includes a railway museum, an aquarium, a hotel, a Japanese garden, playground equipment for children, a tram square, flower beds, and a spacious lawn, this park is a collection of attractions. It was sparsely populated in the morning, but by late morning, it was bustling with tourists, school excursions, and local residents taking walks. It seems to have been created with the purpose of establishing a large-scale green hub in the green-scarce city center of Kyoto and serving as a wide-area evacuation site in case of disasters.
