Eikandō, officially known as Zenrin-ji Temple, is one of Kyoto's most beautiful autumn foliage spots.
Eikandō is a temple of the Jōdo Buddhist sect, famous for its famous Mikaeri Amida (Returning Amida Buddha) statue.
It is famous for its brilliant red and orange maple leaves, which typically peak in mid to late November.
The temple's gardens and walkways are lined with more than 3,000 maple trees, creating a landscape of brilliant red, orange and yellow.
