Kifune Shrine, located in Kyoto's northern district, is a must-visit destination during the summer!
From Kyoto Station, take Bus No. 17 to Takaragaike Station, then transfer to the Eizan Electric Railway and get off at Kibuneguchi Station. After exiting the station, you'll find Kyoto Bus No. 33 across the street, which takes you directly to Kifune Station. From there, it's less than a 10-minute walk to Kifune Shrine!
The path to the shrine is shaded by trees on both sides, and you'll see a stream running alongside the road. The cool breeze from the stream is refreshing and incredibly soothing!
Restaurants by the stream offer guests the chance to enjoy delicious food while admiring the flowing water and listening to the sound of the stream—a feast for the senses! Of course, you must try the famous kawadoko flowing somen noodles! Additionally, there's a small shop along the way that sells Italian gelato with a Kyoto twist—it's absolutely delicious!
