Mount Takao is a mountain located near Kyoto cityโจ and is a popular hiking spot among Japanese people, especially during the autumn foliage season ๐๐ (around October to November). During this time, there are many shops and food stalls open. Unfortunately, when we visited during winter, all the shops were closed ๐ฅน๐ฆ.
The mountain is quite steep, so walking to each temple can be a bit tiring, but it's worth it because the scenery at each spot is absolutely beautiful ๐โบ๏ธ๐. We visited three temples in total:
- Jingo-ji Temple
- Saimyoji Temple
- Kozanji Temple
We spent about 3-4 hours leisurely exploring all three temples ๐ฟ๐.
๐ Transportation: You can take a direct bus from Kyoto Station to the area! However, you'll need to walk to each temple from there (haha).
