[Kyoto] An art trip in Kyoto, surrounded by light and curves

Kyoto
˗ˏˋ Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art ˎˊ˗

Nestled amid the tranquil greenery of Higashiyama, this beautiful art space, formerly Japan's oldest public art museum, is a historic Art Deco-style building. Enjoy both art and architecture here.

Enjoy exhibitions of masterpieces from Japan and abroad, as well as art associated with Kyoto.

The building itself is incredibly beautiful, and the spiral staircase in the central hall is a must-see.

The grand staircase in the former west entrance lobby and the stained-glass ceiling are also highlights.

The design, which combines the formality of Japanese architecture with Western-style glass ornamentation, is retro and charming.

We also recommend taking a stroll through the lush Okazaki Park in front of the museum. 🌿
