Wat Phra That Hariphunchai, a Beautiful Temple in Lamphun

Wat Phra That Hariphunchai Woramahawihan is an ancient temple in Lamphun. Built in 1651 during the reign of King Athitayarat, the 32nd King of the Chamadevi Dynasty of the Hariphunchai Kingdom, it has been in existence for over 900 years.

This temple houses Phra That Hariphunchai, the sacred stupa for those born in the Year of the Rooster. It contains the Buddha's hair relics enshrined in a golden urn, similar in appearance to Phra That Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai.

The temple also hosts the annual "Hundred Thousand Lanterns" festival, featuring colorful Lanna lanterns decorated with beautiful lanterns every year during Loi Krathong.

Address: Rop Muang Nai Road, Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang Lamphun District, Lamphun Province
