Traveling from Taitung to Lanyu takes about 2 hours by ferry (which might feel a bit long—if you can't handle it, consider taking a small plane ✈️). This journey truly takes you far away from the chaos of daily life.

Lanyu is sparsely populated, and the number of shops is limited. What you'll find in abundance is nature, along with charming pavilions where you can gaze at the sea and let your mind wander (these are truly amazing).

When visiting Lanyu, I highly recommend a laid-back itinerary. Eat when it's mealtime, ride a scooter around when you have nothing planned, and stop at any pavilion you like to admire the sea, daydream, or even take a nap. Such a simple plan is enough to fill your soul with contentment, as the sea in Lanyu is absolutely stunning 😌
