This is a place with extremely polarized online reviews❗️❗️
After reading hundreds of travel guides, I concluded:
Those who join one-day tour groups generally think it's not worth visiting,
while those who stay overnight almost all agree it's worth it.
The scenic area is **huge**—definitely worth staying a night to explore slowly❗️❗️

Transportation
🚄 **Shenzhen North → Guilin North**
High-speed train: ~3 hours, 💰260
🚍 **Guilin North Station → Longji Rice Terraces**
Tourist bus: ~2.5 hours, 💰65 (Ask your homestay to book tickets in advance or search the official WeChat account "Guilin Qintan Passenger Bus Station"❗️❗️ **Important**: Choose the option "Longji Terraces with transfer included." Self-driving is even better if possible.)

The scenic area is **massive**—it takes an hour by car from the entrance to the most popular **Jinkeng Village**.

Divided into three major villages:
1️⃣ **Jinkeng Village**
The **largest**! Most activities, accommodations, and facilities! Includes three viewpoints:

🍃 **Viewpoint 1: Xishan Shaoyue**
Skipped it—reviews said it wasn’t impressive.

🍃 **Viewpoint 2: Thousand-Layer Ladder**
**Best scenery** and most developed homestays. If short on time, just visit this one. For overnight stays, **wake up early for sunrise🌅**—the first rays shine directly over the terraces here.

🍃 **Viewpoint 3: Golden Buddha Peak**
Take the cable car from Jinkeng Village parking lot—great for seniors🧓 and kids🧒 (no hiking needed).
Cable car🚠: **55 yuan one-way** (pricey but great views). Decide based on preference.

🍃 **Ethnic costumes** for rent at each viewpoint (20-30💰)—**great value!**

2️⃣ **Ping’an Village**
Two viewpoints, but requires lots of hiking—less convenient.

3️⃣ **Ancient Zhuang Village**
Smallest and most primitive terraces, barely developed. Ideal for those seeking raw nature.

Accommodation
We stayed at **Yunya Qinqi Sky Garden Panorama Homestay (Jinkeng Branch)** (800-1500💰). The first-floor decor is **Instagram-worthy**, like stepping into a Ghibli summer scene. Even non-guests can visit for afternoon tea☕️ and photos📷.

Later, we spotted **Sky City Homestay (Viewpoint Branch)**—**stunning** (1000-3000💰). Will consider it next time!

Food
Every household in Longji serves **bamboo-tube chicken🐔 and rice**. We tried **"Mountains and Rivers"** near Jinkeng Village Committee—**delicious** with a great second-floor view!
