Atmosphere/Location - Wat Xieng Thong, an ancient temple in Luang Prabang. There are 2 entrances to the temple: the front door of the temple is located by the Mekong River
and the back door of the temple. I rode a motorcycle and parked at the back door of the temple. Before entering the temple gate, there is a souvenir shop from the locals.
Then you will see the ticket booth to enter the temple. Enter the large temple grounds. On the right hand side, there will be a church covered in gold. Inside, there will be an ancient cart made of large gold-colored wood.
And on top of the cart, there will be 3 large golden coffins. I am not sure whose coffins they are. And at the end, there will be a large set of Buddha images.
Next, in the middle of the temple, is the ordination hall of Wat Xieng Thong, or also known as the Sim. The external structure is similar to temples in northern Thailand. The roof is overlapping and curved.
Inside, there is a principal Buddha image and a replica of the Phra Bang. The interior of the ordination hall is made of dark brown wood with gold-colored paintings. The floor is covered with red carpet, quiet
And another important point is the Reclining Buddha Hall, the outside is red and pink, decorated with patterns of people and various traditions, beautiful colors. On both the left and right sides of the Reclining Buddha Hall, there are small windows
You can go inside to take pictures. It is another popular spot for tourists.
The atmosphere around the temple in the evening, the air is cool, not many people, clean. Anyone who comes to visit Luang Prabang should not miss it.
