🛕 Wat Den Sali Si Mueang Kaen (Wat Ban Den) – A magnificent temple in the middle of the mountains, located in Mae Taeng | Chiang Mai
This temple is one of the most beautiful and magnificent temples I have ever been to! The art is a perfect blend of Lanna and Burmese. The church, pagodas, and statues are incredibly beautiful, like walking in heaven.
📸 Take lots of photos. I recommend leaving 1–2 hours because the temple is quite large.
☀️ It’s quite hot during the day. The temple floor is almost entirely paved with stones. I recommend bringing socks/umbrellas.
🧘♀️ Suitable for both those who like to make merit and those who like to take photos.
🛻 How to get there:
• Drive from Chiang Mai city for ~1 hour (located in Mae Taeng, near the way to the Maengat Dam).
• Avoid using Google Maps to enter the temple from the back. It’s better to look at the large main entrance sign.
🚗 There is a large parking lot.
🚻 There are many restrooms, but you have to walk a bit.
💸 Free admission
⏰ Recommended time:
• Before 9 am / After 4 pm
The midday sun is very strong. Because there are not many shady trees
📍 You can plan a trip together with Buathong Waterfall & Dantewada Waterfall Temple in 1 day
