Sakura and Daruma Dolls at Katsuo-ji Temple

Located in the northern part of Minoh City near Osaka, Katsuo-ji Temple is a popular destination known for its thousands of red Daruma dolls. Despite its somewhat inconvenient transportation options, visitors flock to the temple to capture stunning photos and seek good fortune with a Daruma doll.

If you visit during spring, Katsuo-ji Temple offers an additional attraction: cherry blossoms! The temple grounds feature an elegant weeping cherry tree whose branches sway gracefully in the wind, creating a serene and dreamy atmosphere. Additionally, the area is adorned with various cherry blossom species, including Yaezakura, Satozakura, and Yamazakura, transforming every corner of Katsuo-ji Temple into a picturesque scene.

Katsuo-ji Temple is about an hour's drive from Osaka city center. To get there, take the Midosuji Line subway to its final stop, Senri-Chuo, and then transfer to Bus No. 29, which goes directly to the temple. While the route is straightforward, bus services are infrequent, so plan your timing carefully.
