Weekend in Nagoya – Castles, Characters & a Cozy Stay

#cityplaybook

Nagoya is perfect for a weekend escape—easy to get to, packed with cool spots, and just the right size to explore at a relaxed pace. From historic landmarks to modern cafés, there’s more to this city than meets the eye.

No trip to Nagoya is complete without a visit to Nagoya Castle. The golden shachihoko on the roof, the sweeping gardens, the grandeur—it’s definitely worth the stroll.

I stayed at The Strings Hotel Nagoya, which had everything I needed for a chill and comfortable stay. Beautiful interiors, great service, and a location that made exploring super easy.

Later, I stopped by the Nagoya TV Tower, where the view of the city is best enjoyed around sunset. The surrounding Hisaya-odori Park area is also great for a relaxed walk.

And of course—Piyorin Café. This local dessert character (a custard pudding chick!) is adorable, and yes, almost too cute to eat. Almost.

Why I recommend Nagoya:
・It’s compact and easy to explore, perfect for a weekend trip
・A fun mix of classic sights, modern design, and seriously cute treats
