🌊✨ Four Days Around Lake Maggiore — A Peaceful Escape

I spent 4 days exploring the towns around Lake Maggiore, staying at Ostello Verbania 🏡. The hostel included breakfast, had super friendly staff, and from my window I woke up to mountain views with snowy peaks ⛰️🌅.

🚆 From Milan, I took the train toLaveno Mombello Lago station. Just 50 meters (literally 1 minute walk!) from the station you’ll find the pier where ferries leave every 15–30 minutes (about €3). I hopped on a ferry to Intra, the town across the lake.

🌇 Day 1: Strolled through Verbania itself, walking along the lakeside promenade and catching a magical sunset over the mountains.

🚶♀️ Day 2: Walked from Verbania to Intra — a stunning path along the lake, with cyclists, joggers, and families enjoying the fresh air. On the way, you’ll pass elegant villas, some still private, some converted into public buildings. Don’t miss Villa Giulia with its peaceful gardens 🌿.

🚤 Day 3: Took an unlimited boat ticket for island-hopping — the best way to see Lake Maggiore’s charm from the water and discover small towns across the lake.

🌳 Day 4: Slow walks, enjoying the calm vibe of Verbania before heading back to Milan.

💡 Tip: Plan at least one full day for the ferry rides and islands. And definitely stay for a lakeside sunset — it’s unforgettable ✨.
