Lake Maggiore felt like Italy with a touch of Switzerland — elegant, calm, and refined. I took a short trip to Locarno across the Swiss border, but my favorite time was spent wandering Cannobio, a colorful little town on the Italian side. It had a lively Sunday market where I bought local honey and cheese. Swimming in the lake was refreshing, the water cooler than I expected but crystal clear. At sunset, the colors on the water shifted from gold to violet, and I understood why Maggiore is considered timeless. It’s less famous than Como, but equally enchanting. #mytraveldiary
