A peaceful temple hidden in a bustling shopping district

I made a point of visiting this temple after hearing that it was a quiet temple in the heart of Dotonbori.

This temple, called Hozenji, is a popular place for people to pray. It features a statue of Fudo Myo-o, a god of wealth, which you can splash water on to make a wish. Look for the moss-covered stone statue.

The temple grounds are very peaceful, with no noise. There are places to light incense and pray, and wooden signs for you to write your wishes.

Unfortunately, I went during the day. The nighttime lanterns would have been beautiful.
