Pay homage to the giant Buddha in Bangkok at Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, a renowned and historic temple over 300 years old, dating back to the Ayutthaya period. This temple has long been a spiritual center for the people of Thonburi and boasts a fascinating history. The highlight of the temple is the Phra Buddha Dhammakaya Thep Mongkol, a meditative Buddha statue standing 69 meters tall, equivalent to a 20-story building. This giant meditative Buddha was created based on the vision of Luang Por Sod, who saw the image of this Buddha during his meditation practice. Another remarkable feature of the temple is the Phra Maha Chedi Maha Ratchamongkol, an 80-meter-tall pagoda that blends Rattanakosin and Lanna architectural styles. Inside, it houses the Emerald Glass Pagoda containing sacred relics of the Buddha, which visitors can admire and worship. The pagoda is divided into five levels for exploration.
Address: 300 Soi Ratchamongkol Prasat, Pak Khlong Phasi Charoen Subdistrict, Phasi Charoen District, Bangkok.
