Phra Mongkhon Bophit Temple, Ayutthaya, World Heritage City

#VisitAyutthaya Hello, all travelers. When talking about Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, many people probably can't help but think of temples and monasteries that have a long history. And what is seen today still has not much evidence left. So it's not strange that travelers want to visit. I will take you to "Wat Mongkhon Bophit".

Phra Mongkhon Bophit Vihara enshrines a very large Buddha statue. Phra Mongkhon Bophit is a bronze Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture. There is no clear evidence of when it was built. It is assumed to have been built in the early Ayutthaya period. It has been restored many times.

Phra Mongkhon Bophit is a large bronze Buddha statue, the only one in Thailand. It is lacquered and gilded with gold. The core is made of bricks. The outer surface is covered with bronze. It is made into sections that are welded together. It is 12.54 meters high and 4 wa wide. It is assumed to have been built during the reign of King Chairacha around 2081. It was originally enshrined outdoors. Later, during the reign of King Songtham, His Majesty ordered it to be placed in the southwest of Wat Phra Si Sanphet.

If you come to Ayutthaya, don't forget to stop by and pay homage to the Buddha.
