Wat Phra Si Sanphet is a royal temple of the Ayutthaya Dynasty in Thailand, located in the Ayutthaya Historical Park. Wat Phra Si Sangphit was built in the 14th century. It was the largest temple in Thailand at that time and the center of Thai Buddhist culture.
Wat Phra Si Sangphi consists of three tall Ceylon-style pagodas, which house the ashes of three Ayutthaya kings. The three pagodas look like golden bells, with the bodies of the pagodas made of bricks and stones and the tops of the pagodas covered with metal. The pagoda is surrounded by exquisite sculptures and murals depicting Buddhist stories and parables.
Wat Phra Si Sangphi was destroyed during the Burmese invasion in 1767 and was later restored to its original appearance after several restorations. Wat Phra Si Samphi is one of the most famous historical sites in Thailand and a world cultural heritage.
