Phra Mongkhon Bophit Temple, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province

Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit is the place where Phra Mongkhon Bophit, an ancient Buddha image, is believed to have been built since the early Ayutthaya period during the reign of King Borommatrailokanat, or about 500 years ago.

The Buddha image has been restored many times, both by moving its location, both originally as a pavilion and later converted into a temple, until it was severely damaged during the fall of Ayutthaya for the second time, becoming an open-air religious site that was quite dilapidated until it was well restored in 1956 to its current state.

Located next to Wat Phra Si Sanphet in the island of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

You can visit it every day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Or during special festivals, it will be open until late at night.
