🛕Wat Yai Chai Mongkol was built in the early Ayutthaya period during the reign of King Ramathibodi I or King U Thong, the monarch who established Ayutthaya as the capital in 1900. It was originally called Wat Pa Kaew and was given the name "Wat Yai Chai Mongkol" during the reign of King Naresuan the Great. It has been renovated continuously and when Ayutthaya fell for the second time, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol was abandoned. Later, during the Rattanakosin period, the temple was renovated. 🙏🙏🙏
