Pingnan, this unknown quiet ancient village

I never expected that in the inconspicuous mountains of northern Fujian, there is such a well-preserved cluster of ancient villages that have not been eroded by commercialization. This is a cultural and creative ancient town created by a group of literary and artistic young people with countless efforts. This is Pingnan County, Fujian.
After the holiday, the ancient town returned to its former leisurely state. There were few tourists a day and most of the homestays and shops were closed. You can see the occasional elderly villager cleaning the deserted streets, and there are only a few people in the coffee shop. It is so quiet that you can hear the sound of red leaves falling. Looking out the window, you can see undecorated yellow rammed earth, and looking up, you can see black-tiled curved horse-head walls. After dinner, listen to the birdsong and the stream
Let the breeze blow.
Xiadi (p2-6):
The village is small and can be walked from beginning to end in ten minutes. And because of limited investment, only the buildings on both sides of one main road were repaired, and the rest of the places are basically in ruins. The most surprising thing is the Pioneer Bookstore. As soon as you enter the door, on the first row of bookshelves, you can see the renovation process and architectural style of various villages in Pingnan. It is quite rewarding. It is very pleasant to have a cup of coffee and read history at a window seat. I hope that the government will pay attention to it in the future and complete the renovation of the entire village. Overall, it is still worth a visit. You can spend a morning in Xiadi when you come to Pingnan.
Four pings (p7-10):
It was quite a surprise and the experience was the best among the three villages. It is large in scale and the degree of architectural restoration is high. Looking down from the mountain, the old houses in the ancient town and the endless green mountains in the distance complement each other. Autumn is the season when persimmons ripen. Persimmon trees can be seen everywhere in Siping. When the persimmons are ripe and the green leaves fall off, Siping enters its most beautiful time. It is a highly recommended village. If you want to stay in a village for a whole day, it is recommended to go to four pings.
Longtan (p11-12):
It is very close to Siping and has a strong commercial atmosphere. As soon as we drove past, we were greeted by two rows of densely packed restaurants on the roadside. It is indeed convenient. It is a good choice for accommodation and food. If you want to go to Siping, you can spend some time to check in at Longtan first, and then go to Siping to relax.
Accommodation: It is recommended to stay in Pingnan County, which is not far from various attractions. Life is also more convenient. We stayed in a four-person room at Zhijian B&B. There were many restaurants nearby, and we could also order various takeouts.
Of course, there are many ancient villages with many treasures in Pingnan. If you have time, you must drive there to explore them yourself.
