A New Favorite for Family Trips! The Most Eye-Catching Family Hotel in Yalong Bay for 2025

InterContinental Yalong Bay Resort Yalong Bay IHG has limited hotel options here, with only the newly opened Staybridge Suites and InterContinental in the past two years. The sea-view rooms at Staybridge are scarce, so we ultimately chose InterContinental. The two hotels are adjacent, with Staybridge on the mountain side, featuring mountain views, while InterContinental is in front of Staybridge, closer to the sea, offering lake and sea views.

Currently, Sanya no longer has distinct off-peak or peak seasons. On the day of our stay, the high-floor sea-view rooms were fully booked, so we were initially assigned a lower-floor room. The hotel apologized but pleasantly surprised us by upgrading us to a high-floor family sea-view open suite.

Our room was on the 9th floor, designed with a family-friendly theme. Children's robes, slippers, and toiletries were provided. Near the entrance, there was a study desk in the kids' area—a thoughtful touch by the hotel, reminding us that even on vacation, learning shouldn’t be forgotten, haha.

The ocean-themed kids' room was quite fun, equipped with a simple sofa and TV. The bedroom was spacious, with a sofa, dining table, and two single beds, yet it didn’t feel cramped.

The hotel has multiple indoor and outdoor children’s play areas, ensuring a great experience for families. There’s also a Star Family Restaurant next to the indoor play zone.

Opened in 2023, the hotel is located at the easternmost end of Yalong Bay, facing Park Hyatt at the western end. Compared to the older hotels in Yalong Bay, its new facilities are its biggest advantage.

Focused on family-friendly experiences, the hotel offers a strong resort vibe and unique views of mountains, lakes, and the sea. Getting to the beach requires crossing a street, but it’s convenient. If you prefer dining outside the hotel, consider Baigu Commercial Street, about 1.2 km away (a walkable distance), which offers a wide variety of cuisines.

The hotel is very member-friendly, and this exceptional upgrade made our stay even better. For family-friendly hotels, besides the Crown Plaza, this is now another great option.
