#Zuihoden is one of the few scenic spots in Sendai City. It is the temple of the former Sendai lord #Date Masamune and his descendants. The meticulously carved and magnificent Zuihoden also demonstrates the glorious achievements of Date Masamune. It is a designated historical site and national treasure of Sendai City.
Around Zuihoden are the mausoleum of Tadamune Date, Kansenden, the mausoleum of Tsunamune Date, Zenoden and its attached archive, as well as Zuihoji Temple at the foot of the mountain. It takes about 30 minutes to walk around the stone steps in the cedar forest, which is cool and shady and very leisurely.
Although Zuihoden is very close to the city of Sendai, it is located on a high ground with a wide view. It is about a 20-minute drive away. We drove there. The parking lot next to Zuihoji Temple is free for visitors as long as they pay for their visit.
You can also take a bus and visit all the related attractions of Date Masamune in one go: #Zuihoden #Xiantai Castle Ruins #Xiantai Museum.
