Transportation Guide
- Metro: Take Line 16 to Dishui Lake Station, exit from Exit 3 or 4, then walk 10-15 minutes to reach the museum.
- Bus: You can take bus routes Shengkang 1, 1009, 1135, 1043, etc., to nearby stops.
- Driving: Access via Zhonghuan—Huaxia Expressway—Lianggang Highway, or Outer Ring—Hulu Expressway—Shengkang Avenue, then enter Lingang Avenue. Parking is available outside the museum.
Visiting Tips
- Permanent Exhibits: The "Homeland" exhibition hall is on the first floor, featuring Earth, Moon, and Sun themed exhibits, including rare lunar and Martian meteorites. The "Universe" exhibition hall is on the second floor, with five themed areas: "Space-Time," "Gravity," "Light," "Elements," and "Life," showcasing cosmic phenomena and celestial evolution. The "Journey" exhibition hall is also on the second floor, featuring themes of galaxies, a mathematics laboratory, and flight, displaying original works of famous scientists who influenced world science development.
- Special Exhibits: The "Chinese Astronomy" exhibition area is on the first floor, with themes of astronomical observation and timekeeping, the introduction of Western learning to the East, and the Chinese celestial dream, showcasing Chinese scientific instruments and achievements in astronomy. The "Curious Planet" exhibition is on the basement level, suitable for children aged 3-8, following the protagonist on an interstellar adventure. The "Heading to Mars" exhibition is on the first floor, where visitors can role-play as a rescue team boarding a spacecraft to Mars, simulating spacecraft rendezvous and docking scenes.
- Exciting Performances: The dome theater screen is 23 meters in diameter, presenting ultra-high-definition 8K images, with films such as "The Firmament" and "Invisible Universe." The "Flying Through the Galaxy" theater is a 6K motion theater where you can board the "Light Chaser" ship to explore the mysteries of the galaxy.

- Dining: The museum has a restaurant and beverage vending machines offering a variety of food and drinks.
- Shopping: There is a shopping mall with over 120 cultural and creative products including decorations, clothing, daily necessities, stationery, and toys.

- Tickets must be booked in advance via the "Shanghai Science and Technology Museum Natural History Museum Astronomy Museum" mini-program, with tickets available for booking three days in advance starting at 9:30 AM daily.
