Little Tibet Temple: A Glimpse of Tibetan Civilization

Songzanlin Monastery, also known as Little Lama Temple, is modeled after the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. This monastery is situated at an altitude of over 3,300 meters.

How to get there from the Old Town:
1. By taxi or Didi
2. By bus, Route 3
Both options will drop you off at the ticketing area. Tickets are divided into entrance tickets and bus tickets, with special discounts available for senior citizens.

Touring the monastery:
1. Take the bus from the ticketing area.
2. The bus ride is short, taking you from the ticketing area to the base of the monastery.
3. Upon arrival, you need to get off the bus and walk up the stairs, which are steep and high. Visitors are advised to bring portable oxygen cans.
4. Photography is not allowed inside the monastery.
5. You can enjoy the scenic views around the lake in front of the monastery.

Returning to the Old Town:
1. You can take Bus Route 3 directly from the front of the monastery back to the Old Town without needing to take the green bus down to the ticketing area.
2. Alternatively, you can take the green bus down to the ticketing area and then call a taxi back to the Old Town.
