I visited The Ritz-Carlton, Shenzhen in Futian with my partner for a one-night stay in an executive room, marking a special commemoration of our past stays.
🧹Soundproofing/Cleanliness:
The hotel's soundproofing is quite good, providing guests with a relatively quiet rest environment. The cleanliness is well-maintained with frequent housekeeping. After checking in around 2 PM, we returned from dinner to find the room had been tidied up again, with fresh fruits replenished and cookies delivered—clean and thoughtful.
🏘️Room Type/Layout:
The executive room we stayed in had a reasonable layout. The pseudo-suite ending with 08, which I've stayed in multiple times, left a deep impression. The super-sized bed made by joining two single beds was very spacious, facing Huangting Square with an open view.
🛌Amenities/Facilities:
The hotel's toiletries are mostly from the diptyque brand, featuring a fig fragrance, with the shower gel subtly carrying a light peach scent—very pleasant. The pool is a highlight, with a nice environment and few people. Swimming at night with the city view would have been even better, but the typhoon prevented us from doing so. However, some facilities show signs of aging, with slightly retro decor on lower floors and worn charging ports that don't work smoothly. Bed comfort may vary; some might feel slightly uncomfortable after sleeping.
💗Other Tips:
- The service standard is high, with staff showing strong service awareness, proactively considering guests' needs, responding quickly, answering calls promptly, and delivering items efficiently. During turndown service, the housekeeping staff thoughtfully replenish capsule coffee and ice buckets and place cookies by the bed.
- The in-room dining experience is good, with Xingli's offerings being satisfying. The hotel is also flexible in coordinating dishes not on the in-room dining menu.
- During my past business trips to Shenzhen, this Ritz-Carlton was a frequent choice, back before I fell for Park Hyatt or experienced Andaz, and before Raffles opened. It always felt leisurely, comfortable, and convenient. Now, revisiting, the hardware and decor remain largely the same, though the style feels slightly retro today, and there's room for improvement in maintenance. Still, the service has improved, maintaining a gentleman-and-lady-like attitude. As the saying goes, true beauty never fades but ages gracefully. I look forward to seeing its new glow after renovation.
Overall, The Ritz-Carlton, Shenzhen, despite showing some signs of age, still offers a memorable stay with its excellent service and unique charm.
