HUALUXE Shenzhen Bao'an, a high-end Chinese-style hotel under the InterContinental Hotels Group, opened in Bao'an District, Shenzhen, in 2024. It's not near a subway station, so a taxi is required. A Walmart is a fifteen-minute walk away. Room rates range from RMB 600 to 900.
Upgrading to a suite, I simply asked during check-in if there was a sea view, and immediately received a second upgrade. The overall design is centered around the concept of "Chinese aesthetics in everyday life." Bamboo, wood, and lacquered woodwork cleverly blend local culture with modern luxury, creating a unique oriental aesthetic. Inspired by the "tide culture" of leaping fish, HUALUXE Bao'an incorporates the dynamics of waves into architectural lines and decorative details. For example, the lobby's art scroll depicting a dancing fish creates a majestic atmosphere. The furniture features predominantly square lines, creating a perfect separation between the living and bedroom areas. The bathroom features multiple mirrors, a three-part structure, double sinks, and an oversized bathtub. There are both a master and guest bathroom.
