How about here instead of Sapporo? Shirakawago, a small Japanese town

Introducing Shirakawago, which is about 4 hours away from Nagoya, Japan by express bus.
It is a small village located in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, and is known as a tourist destination because it is filled with traditional houses built in the Gassho-zukuri style, one of Japan's architectural styles.
It is a small village that maintains its beautiful appearance in both summer and winter, as it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.

It is also the area with the most snow and rain in Japan, more than Sapporo, and I highly recommend viewing the scenery from the observation deck where you can see the Gassho-zukuri style covered in snow at a glance.
It is a winter travel destination that I highly recommend to those who are concerned about the cost of the winter season!

The village is not very large, so many people come for day trips or half-day trips, and since all the restaurants and cafes in the village close at 4-5 PM, I recommend visiting early!

How to get there from Nagoya
1. Meitetsu Nagoya > Go to Takayama > Take the highway bus from Takayama
2. Take the highway bus from Nagoya Chubu International Airport
