Let’s experience the sea of red leaves together! Hanxia Creek!

Kankakei is one of the three largest valleys in Japan, formed by volcanic activity 13 million years ago. The rocks carved over a long period of time are unique and varied in shape, making them never boring to look at. Every autumn, the valley is dyed red by red leaves, showing the beauty of maple leaves. It is a must-visit scenic spot for viewing maple leaves in Shikoku, Japan. Every autumn, the valley is dyed red by red leaves, which is beautiful. The time to see it is usually from mid-November to late November every year. We specially arranged to come in mid-November. There are generally several ways to visit Hanxia Creek. The most popular one is of course to take the mountain cable car from Hongyun Pavilion at the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain and back, and then stand in the valley to enjoy the beautiful scenery of red leaves all over the mountain. The second way is to take two hiking trails. The longer trail starts from Hongyun Pavilion to the top of the mountain. Along the way, you can see 12 scenes of Hanxia River. It is 2km long. The other trail starts from the mountain road next to Zhugu Station. Along the way, you can see 8 scenes of Hanxia River. It is 1.8km long. Both trails take about 1 hour to walk. The last way is to drive directly to the top of Kanxia Gorge and overlook the beautiful scenery of the sea and valley from the highest point.

To experience the red leaves of Kanxiakei from different angles, I personally think the best way is to take the one-way mountain cable car up the mountain, and then choose to walk down the mountain on a hiking trail. However, since we were bringing little Bu and Bum, as well as grandpa and grandma, hiking was not a feasible option, so we planned to drive to Hongyun Pavilion first, and then buy round-trip tickets to take the mountain cable car to and from the top of the mountain.
