Songyang, National Geographic didn't lie.

I spent a weekend in Lishui's Songyang, a place that National Geographic calls "the last secret of Jiangnan."

🏠 I stayed at Sunyata Songyang, a top-rated Songyang homestay located 724 meters above sea level. It's a great place to enjoy mountain views during the day and stargaze at night.
📍 Songyang, Lishui, Zhejiang. Take a high-speed train to Lishui Station, then drive or rent a car to get around. The attractions are spread out.

The food here is amazing. The Mountain View Restaurant serves authentic Songyang cuisine, including salt-baked chicken and crispy bamboo shoots with squid.

The infinity pool is a great place to watch the sunset. The Cloud Children's Playground is perfect for kids. The rooftop terrace is a great place to play the zither and drink tea. There's also a golf course, a spa, and more.

The surrounding attractions are all unique:
Chenjiapu is very commercialized, with popular attractions like Feiniaoji and the Avant-Garde Bookstore. Avoid visiting during holidays.
Yangjiatang Village is famous for its sunsets. It's known as the "Golden Potala Palace" for a reason. The couple tree at the village entrance is very photogenic.
Songzhuang Ancient Bridge was featured in National Geographic. It's a quiet and peaceful place.
Youtian Village is a beautiful place with few visitors. The century-old guest-welcoming pine trees and the Five Hearts Academy's intangible cultural heritage tie-dyeing experience are both amazing.
