Lishan Hotel Accommodation. Mountain Travelogue
Walking along the winding Central Cross-Island Highway, the mists gather and disperse. As the Lishan Hotel emerges from the mountains, it's as if I've stepped into another time and space. Once the residence of President Chiang Kai-shek and his wife, it's now a mountain inn where visitors can stay.
The accommodations are nestled against the mountainside, their wooden corridors and window lattices bearing the marks of time. Opening the door, you're greeted by the unique tranquility of the deep mountains: the distant peaks shimmer golden in the morning light, and at night, a sky dotted with stars. The hustle and bustle of the city is absent, replaced by the sound of the wind, the rustling of pine trees, and the occasional chirp of birds.
The nights here are exceptionally quiet. Sitting on the small balcony of the accommodations, brewing a cup of hot tea, the chill air intensifies the rich aroma. Thinking of past dignitaries and guests, who once contemplated and conversed in this same mountain breeze, I suddenly feel a sense of intertwining traveler and history.
Waking up early in the morning, the trail outside the hotel was gently shrouded in white mist, creating a fairyland-like experience. After breakfast, I strolled along the path, and the Lishan air was filled with the delicate aroma of apples—a renowned local agricultural product.
A stay at the Lishan Hotel is more than just a night's sleep; it's a journey of "sleeping with history and waking with the mountains." When travelers step out of the lobby and are once again confronted with the magnificent mountain scenery, they often feel a sense of peace and awe.
