"The Heavenly Goddess Above the Clouds"—A Visit to Tianlong Temple in Lishan
Above 2,000 meters, the wind has already turned chilly, and the fog has thickened into wisps.
I arrived in Lishan, ascending the winding mountain road to this sacred temple nestled in the mist—Tianlong Temple. Here, Mazu, the Celestial Mother of Heaven, is enshrined, and it is the highest Mazu temple in Taiwan.
The temple is small, but its aura is expansive. Standing before it, the entire Central Mountain Range seems like her shield. The vast expanse stretches endlessly, only the sky, the mountains, and Her.
The moment the incense smoke drifted, my heart calmed.
In such a lofty place, worldly concerns seem lighter and more distant.
Only the thoughts and sincerity of my prayers remain, clearly conveyed.
I simply hope that on this path I walk, my feet will not slip, and my heart will not stray.
May I not forget my original aspiration even in strong winds, and
may I not lose my way even in thick fog.
