Tainan Hayashi Department Store: The favorite shopping spot for young people is not a department store

Atmosphere/Facilities: Founded in 1932, Tainan Hayashi Department Store has now transformed itself into a hub for hipster goods. No wonder, with its nostalgic classical architecture, black and brick-red floors, and a wide variety of hipster-style goods. The music played in the store is all instrumental versions of old Taiwanese songs, which are easy to get lost in.
It is said that when Hayashi Department Store opened, it was a five-story cement building, known as the "Five-story House" at the time. It had a very rare elevator called a "flow cage" at the time, so a proverb was derived: "Wear a bamboo hat, wear wooden clogs, and sit in a flow cage."
The store actually sells clogs and embroidered shoes, but I don’t know who would wear them.
