Anping Tree House is a historic site located in the Anping District of Tainan. Originally, this area was a bustling port city engaged in international trade, with warehouses and companies established here. During the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, the site served as a salt storage warehouse for the Japan Salt Company for many years. Over time, as the Japanese left, the warehouse was abandoned for a long period, allowing banyan trees to grow and completely envelop the old structure, creating a unique and striking landscape. In 2004, the city of Tainan hired a company to redesign and transform the area into a trendy tourist destination, resulting in the fascinating scenery we see today. If you visit Tainan, this is a must-see spot. The entrance fee is minimal, and besides the Tree House, there is also an exhibition building showcasing the history of Western trade in the Anping area. It's a delightful place to explore and highly recommended.
