The Taitung Bus Station, the former train station lobby, has been converted into a tourist service center. The adjacent information booth serves as a public transportation hub connecting to various towns and villages in Taitung County. Currently, the bus station is served by several transportation companies, including the Puyuma Bus Land, Sea, and Air Express Line and the City Loop Line; the Taiwan Travel East Coast Line and Longitudinal Valley Luye Line; the East Taiwan Bus Mountain and Sea Lines, as well as the long-distance route (Provincial Highway 11); the Hualien Bus Sea Line and Fudong Line; and the Kuo-Kuang Bus Dawu-Fangliao Line. The lobby of the former Taitung Train Station has also been converted into a tourist service center, continuing to assist visitors to Taitung with travel questions. Taitung's most popular attraction is the Hot Air Balloon Festival. This year, the interior and exterior of the Taitung Bus Station were decorated with hot air balloon carnival-themed characters and capsule toy machines. These characters are popular cartoon characters for both adults and children, including Doraemon, Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Gigante, and Suneo. This year's event also featured a special QR code raffle for a capsule toy token. The transfer station was one of the stops and the place to redeem the tokens. Last month, I finally collected QR codes from six locations, but didn't get any. This month, on the 10th, I went back to the Taitung Transfer Station to redeem the tokens, but the 200 spots before noon were already filled. I was completely stunned. So, do I have to make a third trip to Taitung? The event ends before the end of August, so I'll definitely be lining up at the transfer station as soon as it opens. It's really frustrating! The transfer station continues to serve locals and tourists, allowing everyone visiting Taitung to experience the faster and more convenient public transportation it offers.
