Takachiho Gorge, a representative tourist spot in Miyazaki Prefecture, is a cliff-like valley formed when pyroclastic flows erupted from volcanic activity at Mount Aso cooled and solidified. It has been designated a national scenic spot and natural monument. The powerful waterfall can be seen from a rental boat that takes you right to the bottom of the waterfall, and Manai Falls is nearby, making the Takachiho area a popular power spot.
