[Thinking of the World] Must-see attractions in Hida Takayama - Hie Shrine ⛩️❄️
Want to feel the tranquility and solemnity of a traditional Japanese shrine? Then you must visit Hide Shrine in Hida Takayama! This shrine has a long history, founded in 1141, also known as the Hidasannomiya Hide Shrine, the main deity is Oyamazajin, also known as Hiyoshiyama King Gongen, is the shrine in charge of the southern half of the old Takayama Castle Town.
The point is, the famous Haru no Takayama Festival is the example festival of Hie Shrine to inform everyone that spring is coming! 🌸 Takayama Festival is also listed as one of Japan's three major festivals along with Kyoto Gion Festival and Chichibu Night Festival, and is one of the World's Intangible Cultural Heritage! If you have the chance, you must come and feel the lively atmosphere! 🎉
I came this winter and saw the snow-covered Hachimangu Shrine and Hie Shrine. ❄️ Winter in Takayama is from mid-November to March, longer than the rest of Japan, so there’s a good chance you’ll see snow when you come up to the highlands above 500 meters above sea level! 🌨️
The blue sky and white clouds with the snow scene are a perfect match! 💙🤍 Plus there weren’t many people at the time, so you can enjoy it slowly, it’s really enjoyable! 😌
