Georgia Day Trip Guide: The Perfect 24 Hours in Tbilisi

8am: From Liberty Square
Liberty Square is a downtown Tbilisi landmark surrounded by beautiful European architecture and fountains.

9:00 am: Take the cable car on the Narikala Fortress
A 10-minute walk from Liberty Square to the cable car station and a one-way fare of 2 lari.

11am: Stroll through the old town
After descending the old town along Shardeni Street, this cobblestone street has many art galleries and handicraft shops be sure to visit the sulfur bath area (Abanotubani), the colorful domed architecture is great for taking pictures.

12:30 noon: Lunch recommended
Must-haves at Machakhela Restaurant for authentic Georgian cuisine:
- Cheese Boat Khachapuri Adjarian (Creamy Cheese Bun)
- Grilled buns Khinkali (take a small bite to drink the soup first)
- Kebabs Mtsvadi

2 p.m.: Holy Trinity Cathedral
A 10-minute taxi ride to this golden-domed church, the largest Eastern Orthodox church in the Caucasus, is resplendent inside, remember that ladies must wear a headscarf to enter.

3:30 p.m.: Treasure hunt at Dry Bridge Market
Old Soviet-era items, handmade jewelry, and antiques can be found at this open-air flea market. Bargain at least half-and-half, with painted ceramics and croissant glasses recommended.

5pm: Watch the sunset at Peace Bridge
Walking to the glass bridge over the Kula River, this modern building offers an interesting contrast to the old city, which turns golden at sunset and is the best moment for photos.

7pm: Dinner + wine experience
Georgia is the birthplace of wine, go to Vinotheque restaurant and order Saperavi red wine with stewed beef (Chakapuli) and the waiter will teach you how to drink wine in a traditional croissant.

Practical tips:
1. Visa: Holders of Chinese passports can sign electronically ($20) or visa-free with developed country visas
2. Transportation: City attractions are within walking distance, long distance recommended to use Bolt to call a taxi (cheaper than taxis)
3. Currency: 1 lari ≈ 2.7 RMB, card can be swiped in most places
4. Language: Young people can speak English basically, learn the phrase "Gmadlobt" (thank you) more friendly

Although you can't play all the attractions in one day, you can experience the most essence of Tbilisi by such an arrangement. If time permits, it is highly recommended to stay for a few more days to visit Kazbek Mountain or Signage Winery!
