Tour the Imperial Palace, where the Emperor resides

Japan still has an emperor. Politically, he has no power, but he is a spiritual leader of the people. Therefore, there must be a place where the royal family resides, and I was curious about the #Imperial Palace (#皇居) where they still reside, so I went to see it.

After getting off at the subway station and walking for a while, I saw a very small Japanese castle inside a fairly wide moat, and there was a barricade installed in front of the door leading inside. Of course, it was to protect the imperial family, but somehow it felt like they were locked in a cage.
